QSAC, "Quarter Scale Auto Club" Pittsburgh Chapter organized this race and asked SCH to score the 1st annual State Championship race. SCH was happy to do so and to help promote all sports in R/C. Download Flyer

SCH and the Quarter Scale guys were able to get the race in between the rain drops. We dropped one qualifier and headed to the mains to get everything in. Below are a few pictures with captions, but for the full view check out these additional pictures.

All the quarter scale cars lined up and ready to go!

The "Best of Show" prize goes to John Cibella.

The Naugle's made the appearance. These are the owners of the track and were happy to see an exciting race!

1/2 time entertainment provided by the promoters class, which was an 1/8th scale buggy and HPI.

The running order changed throughout the main several times, but Bill Swiontek (Yellow) maintained
the lead for most of the race, pulling out the win.

The main was a little tricky due to the very sloppy conditions, but we got it in!

Bill crosses the line 1st after a 40 lap main!

Congratulations to Bill Swiontek for winning this years 1/4 State Championship!

Subject: 1/4 event

Hi All,
It was soggy and a little muddy at times, but the PA State Race is in the books! Congrats to all involved. It was a lot of fun even though we raced in between the short rainfalls.  Track owner Ed Naugle says to get the racing in when you can because all the rain will make the track surface unraceable on Sunday, It will not hold any more rain / water". The racers voted after round one and elected to cut the heats and go straight to the A-main since everybody was in it. Wise choice because not even 5 minutes after the A-main checkers flew it started to down pour!

I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to the Naugle family for the use of their sweet facility, and to all the racers who attended. Some drove many-many hours to compete w/us. Also to John Walker (JW) for all the behind scenes work he does with the club, track's surface, race day preparation and such, more than you know (my car). I wish he could have been there, but a 24-hour bug kept him away. Thank you John Cibella for stepping up and helping out with everything! ........Also, a HUGE thank you goes out to all the sponsors for their door prizes! I made sure every racer received a nice prize. My ticket was never called? :-) hehehe. The sponsors were (in no particular order) :   BRP Tires / Racing, Tim Shaffer Racing, Greater Pitt Body & Paint, Pro1 Racing, Graphic Results, DWL Motor Sports, and Steel City Hobbies! SCH gets a special "Thank You" for owner Mike Rooney and his staff braving the somewhat wet conditions to score this event with his AMB system ... and for just helping out in general. It was much appreciated! Mike had live
radar reports from his cell phone! or from "Nitro". Cool deal.
