Steel City Hobbies' newest location: Great Southern, Bridgeville/Pittsburgh PA

Steel City Hobbies has moved to Great Southern Shopping Center in Bridgeville. The Washington Store is closed as all inventory has been moved to the larger store in Bridgeville. 1155 Washington Pike is the address.

Directions from old store:
I-79 North to Kirwin Heights Exit; make right at ramp exit and the shopping center is down the road about quarter mile on your right; located in the center, behind Wendy's; same center as the Sears Tool center, and next to the Fashion Bug.

Directions from Downtown Pittsburgh:
Parkway West, I-79 South to Kirwin Heights Exit; make right at ramp exit and the shopping center is down the road about quarter mile on your right.

SCH is putting the finishing touches on constructing the latest state-of-the-art hobby shop specializing in R/C. This store is just over 10,000 SF and will be dedicated to R/C; making it one of the largest of its kind in the USA. The store will have a full blown carpet track that will be breeding grounds for up and coming RC drivers to compete on a national level at events such as the Snowbirds, etc. SCH also anticipates hosting racing on a national level in the future. SCH already has national events planned such as RC Drag Racing, which is coming next summer to Heinz Field. The track is located inside the store and should be complete by the end of January.

The store is so deep you can hardly see the other side. Over one hundered and ninty feet deep!

After a few lights are turned on, you can see the size a little better. Carpet to be
used will be the preferred surface called Ozite™. The floor has received some leveling
work as it is needed before we lay the carpet. This space has tremendous potential as we hope to
capture all the right ingredients in building a top quality track. (expertise and finances
providing of course!) The store will be in the front and will include many R/C items
that we currently sell in Washington PA, along with Steelers Merchandise and more.

Now females will want to come race more often!

More pictures and updates in the future. Store opening will be January 11, 2005 with the track
opening shortly afterwards. We have dedicated R/C enthusiasts who are
volunteering their time, but we can always use more! The more we have, the faster
we can get the track up and running.

SCH also has plans for an outdoor dirt and road track next summer.
